An Oxymoron; Clean + Toddler

Man, I hate a dirty toddler!

See where this is going? Why do they love being as dirty as they can possibly get? Clean toddler. Doesn't that sound better? Ok, thats my oxymoron. Clean toddler?! #ChaRight

I hate a sticky, stinky, sweaty, dirty toddler so much Stella will probably have a phobia of wipes when she get older because I'm constantly wiping her hands, feet and face! And ohh man, the nightmares of a no bath night (which is very rare!) I have is a whole different post topic.

But today we went outside and she got to do whatever she wanted, wherever she wanted. Barefoot! So, of course she wanted to sit, roll, kick, fingernail scrape..ohhh the fingernail scrape, and dig in the dirt!
And I hated (/loved) it so much, I had to add insult to injury and throw an ice cream "eem" in the mix! And cherry topped it with no hair clip to keep the hair out of the eem.
Oh and I couldn't stop there...we turned on the sprinklers (which she's still not too fond of playing in) so all that dirt turned into mud, and all that chocolate turned into chocolate pudding!
All in all, she loved every second and I loved seeing her having so much fun, and defiantly got a kick out of these pictures.

But, man do I love me a clean baby!!

Just Keep Swimming

This Monday marked Stella's first swim lesson class!! She is having a blast especially since she gets to swim with her friend (one of my mommy friends kids) Uriah "Riah".  And of course, this big old belly isn't getting in the pool with a bunch of other moms in bikinis this summer, my husband Zach is swimming with her! Although I will admit, it makes me a little jelly since he is making all the Mom friends, and I'm sweating under the tree in the 104' weather!
(zach, stell, uriah and his mom, rachel)
Is that not one of the cutest pictures you have ever seen? I wonder what they would be talking about if they could fully talk!
Uriah and Stella after their swim class, they love running around this tree (and tripping over their towels and all of these crazy roots!).
My Mom found a towel poncho for Stella to throw on after class and she thinks its the best thing ever, she has to watch it drag behind her like its a cape or a dress, and she calls it Elsa, from Frozen.

And as always, at least once a week I have to meet up with my girl Keli (over at Morrissey Made) so Stella and Jameson can run us ragged and we can chat it up.
She's getting pretty good at climbing.

Every time I look at this picture I cant help but think of those pages in gossip magazines when celebrities are doing completely normal things like walking their dogs, or waiting in line, but the magazines make it sound so weird how they are doing that.
Heres my candid child star photo
"They drink juice boxes!!!"
Awaiting the beautiful weekend ahead, hoping its not too hot so we can take this little beauty out to play!

Making Me Time

This ones a bit of a read!

Where. Has. The. Time. Gone? I have a 22 month old running  around this crazy house and baby boy in this over for only 2 more short months! Its about time I start thinking a little more about myself just in time for there to be even less time!

I stay home 5 days a week and work for two short days a week when my husband is home, and if he does have to work I am very blessed and thankful my parents take on one crazy day till he gets off! Being a 'stay at home mom' is nothing short of amazing, but let's be real, laundry day consists of two or three hang ups and the rest gets folded and shoved into a drawer...getting the picture?? Lets not fail to mention the chipped nail polish, overdue pedi and a hair tie or two always around the wrist for this mop.

Falling into a routine is awesome, especially with a toddler and trying to establish some sort of schedule and structure, but it's still...routine. Every day. Its what we do, and it consists of everything for everyone else.  I love having a clean house, and to be able to sit with my family for dinner every night around the same time, but before I know it, it's tomorrows dinner time, and the next and the next.  A typical day goes a little something like this, Stella wakes up around 7:30/8, we come downstairs watch a little Mouse while we wake up, eat breakfast, play/run errands if we have any that day, play, play, play, eat lunch, nap, wake up, play, play, dad gets home, play, start dinner, eat dinner, I clean up, hubs does bath time, then we finally get family time till we put Stella to bed at 8 (which might I add, this being able to get out of her big girl bed makes bed time any wheres from 15 minutes to a rare 2 hours!) on top of the normal household responsibilities that is not a part of Stellas schedule. Then 8 am here we are again!

I have found myself slumping into this funk and never doing anything for me, that falls outside of being a mom and wife (taken with a grain of salt, as those are truly the best things ever).  I have read a lot of things on how to make a balance between yourself, being a great mom, but also being a great wife, as much of a fan that I am NOT of Mr. Phil... His advice has been my favorite so far. Mainly because #1 is my #1. I cant go anywhere alone without feeling like I have to rush, or check in to see if I should come home.  Guilt. I feel sad when I am not here, and I feel pressure that my husband it tired or needs help or whatever it may be, I feel guilty for being alone.

I encourage every Mom to read this, it sure helped to open my eyes a little bit..

1. Get over the guilt.
  • Don't feel guilty for taking time for yourself. It's not selfish to make yourself a priority.
  • Redefine what it means to be a "good mother." Instead of using society's definition, create your own measure of success as a parent.
  • A good mother is not one who only sacrifices; a good mother is also able to give of herself. If you don't have passion and happiness in your own life, you can't give it to your children.
  • Give yourself permission to be more than half of a couple, more than "just" a mom.
2. Make yourself a priority.
  • Don't confuse the quality and quantity of your time. They simply aren't the same things. Focus on the impact that your time does have, and give yourself the same attention you'd give someone else you love.
  • Don't do everything for your children. They are able to do some tasks on their own. Take the time to teach them how to do things for themselves.
  • Learn the art of saying no, the ability to delegate and the capacity to accept help without feeling guilty.
3. Discover your passions.
  • Find something that you love to do. What gives you a sense of pride, accomplishment or enjoyment?
  • Think back to when you last felt this sort of passion. Now, ask yourself: "What would it take to put that feeling back into my life? What can I do to recreate that feeling now?"
  • When you've found your passion, make time for it in your regular schedule. Don't allow yourself to treat this "me time" as an option. It should be as important as anything else.
4. Gain the support of your family.
  • This isn't always easy, but it can be done. Let your family know how and why you need to do things for yourself " so you can be a better mom and wife.
  • Compromise with your family. Help them to understand that while things may change, you won't be abandoning them. c/o Dr. Phil

I wasn't the crazies of bloggers before, but I really enjoyed doing it when I did. When I got pregnant I was SO sick, hints when mama+her mini fell off the face of the blogger, and my house fell into this day/nightly routine that left no time for anyone, and turned my husband into mom, dad, husband, maid and chef.
Im starting to realize that it is important to make time for me... even if that means drinking some coffee to stay awake after Stella goes to sleep to catch up on my blog reads, or write one myself, then so be it! Maybe a little nail painting nap time, instead of dishwasher unloading? Whatever it may be, Im realizing its going to be ok. If Moms not ok... no one is ok. Wish me luck!

And lastly, but mostly not least, a little babe catch up!

Bless you mothers with babies who are pregnant again and still blogging! This has been one sick mama! But we are so excited to announce baby number two due the first week of August!
I was so sick for almost three weeks...my poor family and house, lets just say I am VERY thankful to be feeling SO much better this past week! Let's hope I t stays this way! Hubs was getting pretty tired with work, being a Dad and pulling off Mom. But he did it!
Can't wait for my Stella girl to have a baby brother or sister. She's going to be the best big sis!!!
As for Stella, she got her butt spoiled off at Christmas! I'm still finding places to put all of her new things!!!

A Whole Lot Of Pictures!

Lots of busyness and playing has gone on since we've last posted! Mostly hanging out woh Jameson, and lots of Christmas shopping!!

So fun taking these two little ones to the zoo.
Stella has a little obsession with Old McDonald (as read about in a few posts back) So seeing the animals in real life is like going to Disneyland for the first time! "EI EI EI!"
Jameson wanted in. Stella wanted to make sure Jameson didn't go in!
She loved the train ride!
Picnic time! (On a bench, the grass was soaked! It was freezing {so don't judge the outfit, I layered everything I had!} )
Ten minutes after we got in the car.
Stella and I got these adorable Mama + Mini matching headbands from my girl over at saraelliebows!
And a side note, this cuteness is from the dollar spot at target!!!!
More play time with Jameson! This was such a great idea! We taped shipping paper to the ground so they could color...or eat the crayons:)
Lunch date, and a stroll through the park.
Christmas shopping, and yes, that's Dad. He went with us, WHAT?! Amazing...it's like pulling teeth getting this guy to shop.. I have two toddlers with me when this goes down ;)
We line up all of our Little People every night.
Christmas tree!!! "Hi. Hi. Hi." She stood in from of Santa saying hi for about 5 minutes.
She was actually a really great bulb passer.
Poor babes had her 15 month checkup and shots that day too:( It was rough. But the little nugget weighed in at a whopping 18 lbs! So she was treated to a Starbucks:)
Oh yes, and lined up more little people.
Always lining up our little people.

Love all sara ellie bows

We had a pretty fun WEEKend that brought us some pretty cute photos, so I figured I'd better share them before the next WEEKend hits...in two days!
We visited Cover's Apple Ranch in Tuolumne. Kind of like Apple Hill, but just one location. not multiple orchards! And a heck of a lot closer to where we live!!
Stellas current obsession is Old McDonald. She walks around saying EIEIEIEI! Loves watching any little video with the song and animals, and my Mom actually found a toy that sings the song!
The Apple Ranch had a small section with animals, be still my heart, this photo captures her excitement when she seen the real live EIEI's.
She love love loves to be scared, and took this mini hay maze witch was pitch black inside, this was with the flash! like a champ with Daddy and Auntie Genna!
We took a train ride around the whole outdoor part, she loved!
Plenty of cute setup spots to take some family pics at. Might I add, I love her hiked up leg in this.
Yes, even the kitty got an EIEIEI serenade.
The next day we ran a couple errands and relaxed. Super relaxing, cant you tell.
Not our WEEKend as a family, but Stell and I have days where its just the two of us, so today we had a play date! Love days with these three little ones together!
And two boys!! She gets more dirty then EVER when we hang with them...and she gets to play with boy stuff!!! ;) She has so much fun, I have 99 mini heart attacks watching her try to keep up with two boys...Man oh man, the different lives a baby boy and baby girl live ;)
