Catch Up Part 2

As the same for many new parents, this is what our Saturday nights turned in to. And oh how we love it!

Stella has about 1,000 bows but this always seems to be our go to one! Its our fave! (at target)

Each day that I do not have work we always try to go on a walk. Stella loves walks SO much! She is perfectly silent the whole entire time, eyes wide open, and more then half of the time arms stuck out stick straight..this being the way she shows her excitement!

Her first ride in the big girl seat of a cart!!! She was sliding all over the place!!!

Tea Party time!!!! 6 AM Every morning for about 2 months!! This is the cutest little toy, the tea pot has a few different settings with different noises and songs, it comes with a tray and three treats and two tea cups!

Stella does pretty good with sun glasses! We defiantly have to remind her every now and again (aka every 8 seconds) to not touch them...but she listens! She has a few different styles of sun glasses and one of my tricks depending on what style they are, I tuck them under the sides of her elastic headband to stay on!

 Pass the rolling, pass the scooting, learned to crawl like a champ, and now... she's mastered the stair! And I know she's totally thinking "Mom...I got it will you stop telling me to be careful?!)

Catch Up Part 1

Sleep. Wait, what does that mean? Needless to say our Stella Princess most definitely didn't wait to let us know who was boss..she took care of business right away.  Right from the start while we were still in the hospital she was not giving us much sleep.

We were in the hospital for 2 long days.  When we were finally able to go home we had a lot of help. THANK GOODNESS!! We were defiantly taken care of and were SO thankful to have so much support and help so we could get some sleep!!! She very much so has her nights and days mixed up...for a very long time. About the first 5 1/2 months of her life! Till she was about 6 months old she was waking up 5-7 times A NIGHT!! It was so hard.  We did whatever we possibly could to get her to sleep longer...nothing worked!!! The only sure thing that consistently worked nigh after night was putting her in her car seat while daddy stood in the middle of the living room swinging it, while mom had a breakdown on the couch  Arm workout! For all the other mommy and daddy's out there who have the same baby sleep solution, you defiantly want to check out this car seat swing!!! So a lot of our day times hours were sent like this...

It took a good solid 6 months to get Stella on a "schedule".  She is almost 9 months now I can more confidently say "This is her schedule". Boom, boom and boom.  It has been a long road to the 7:15 p.m. (on the dot...no kidding) bed time, to an all nights, possibly one time wake up, sleep (unless the paci goes missing.....the paci CANNOT go missing!! so we have a spare one in the corner of her crib for emergencies) :).  She did sleep...a lot...just not at night!!!

The Bumbo was something i really liked.  It bought me just enough time to slap some councilor under my eyes, or change into my jammies......and apparently, doubled as a comfy spot for a cat nap.

STELLAAAAAAAA!!!!!!! My Birthing Story

My pregnancy lasted a whopping 40 weeks and 2 days before I was induced. It was a very very long 2 days. Being educated on the statisticts of being able to have a natural childbirth vs a c-section with an induction gave us no worries that as long as everything went on healthily, we could do it naturally. So we went for it!  And of course, I was very happy to be able to get ready before I went in. I would have bad dreams about being all tore back with my broken water dried skin and stinky breath in the middle of the night, gross... but you know it happens.

 When we got to the hospital it didnt take us very long to get all checked in and in our room. They hooked Me and belly up to some monitors and watched the activity for about an hour, there apparently was activity going on and I didn't even know it! Then finally around 2 hours later (this would make it noon time) the nurse came in and started the induction process with the first pill insertion. Thats all I needed! No second round insertion or no pitocin. Just lots of walking and ball bouncing and patients! Zach was just as antsy as I was to get the show on the road. He found many ways to keep himself occupied, mini workouts included (and all I could think was, gross! Your hands are touching the floor! He is a paramedic, he felt at home while we were there, some days he's there more then he is home!..drove me crazy, he didn't care.

Everything was pretty smooth sailing, and i started to feel  a little bit more uncomfortable as the time went on, but nothing I couldn't handle.  Finally around 7 p.m. and only dilated to a 2 :( My Doctor had made a stop in to check my progress.  And during this "check" she accidentally broke my water. So quick recap, only at a 2 managing everything just fine, to my water being broken. In a mater of three minutes I went from this...

 

To this...no one touch me, no one talk to me, as a matter of fact... no one even look at me! It took till 1:30 a.m. until I was able to get an epidural.  What a brutal 30 seconds I had..every 2 minutes!  I got an intrathecal epidural. That is a 4-6 hour numbing shot. It works just as a regular epidural, but its not a drip, it was a one time shot that is so instantly awesome and amazing...find more information about the differences here.

4:18 a.m. August 27th 2012, Stella Nicole Pinol was born a healthy 19 3/4 inches and 7 lb 2 oz.
